![]() ![]() Johnston County was formed from Craven in 1746.Dobbs was taken from Johnston in 1758.In 1779, the western part of Dobbs became Wayne County.The county seat of Dobbs was moved from Walnut Creek to Kingston,named Kinston in 1784.Dobbs was divided again in December, 1791, into Glasgow and Lenoir and Dobbs ceased to exist.Glasgow was renamed Greene, for Gen.
